Charter to Greece in august - any places to recommend?

That's right! Me and my girlfriend are going to Greece for a week in august, but have trouble deciding exactly where in Greece we want to go. So, anyone here that knows a good place? Preferentially not too far from the Mediterranean, and some (but not way too much) evening activities (pubs, discos, etc).
