All, I have Charter Pipeline Internet service (Central California),connected via a Surfboard cable modem which is attached to a linksys router. For reasons that are unclear to me I have a 1 hour dhcp lease on my ip address. This isn't a problem, except when I play everquest - every hour I get disconnected from EQ and have to re-enter the server.
I can think of no techical reason why the lease time is 1 hour, and my next step is to call charter and see if I can get it raised.
But I'd also like to know if anyone else has heard of this issue, and/or has a workaround.
Other programs seem to work fine, e.g. bearshare, and iso image downloads.
