Finally Charter is starting to get the message and get it right.

I have Charter available in my area, but opted to go with DSL since Charter's plans/prices were ridiculous. The $10 monthly fee for non TV customers totally reinforced my desire to stay away from Charter.

4yr customer with over $5K into them... No free month for me :|

Can't these guys go through a list and at least say "Hey Hey, You've been paying out your as# for the last 4 years. Here's a Cookie!"

Well you could cancell that would show them.
The bottom line in all bussiness is that companies are willing to spend millions of dollars to get new customers while they will never give exsisting customers a break.

Ok so are they going to make the 40 buck package 1.5Mbs? I have been thinking of switching back but only if I can save money and get close to the same service.

I currently have DSL which is 1.5down and 256 up.

The best charter has is 1.5 down and 128 up :( I would save a whopping .50 to boot)

i just got a letter from western union that said my download speed has been increased to 2MBit from my original 768Kbit. I got the connection installed free with free 2 month service. I think HDTV dishes have them just a little afraid.

My "free" cable modem however was a piece of crap, i the ethernet jack was burnt out and all it had was usb, i exchaned it and that one also had a burnt out jack, finally i got one that worked 100% It looks like it has seen some tough times though.

I hope this is all true since I have been wanting the dish for awhile but DSL in my area is limited to one company and they suck.

Their speeds were upgraded a couple of weeks ago. I'm an exisiting charter member and I have the Bronze 256k/128k $34.95 package. But recently, they decided to upgrade the package to a 2MB line with no additional cost. I jumped from a 30K download to a 250K download.
