charter internet down. life suspended

kinda freaked me out as i have no money right now to pay the bill. but i fired up my droid and tmo's 4g is still crackin so i go to charter.com and find my bill is overpaid. so this is probably on comcas i mean charter

might even be my modem though. no online light, but no uplink light to the router either. crapped out almost right on the dot at 12am, thats why i thought it might be my bill but nope.

pray for me guys

oh another clue- my neighbors must have a new router. linksys network available full strength no password. so i log onto that, and it connects fine but no internet. i think charter has a problem. or upgrading i guess

ps- tmo's fake 4g aint too shabby! im in wisconsin too, and looks like my cell is fed through kansas

Call tech support, they can at least confirm if it's your account that's been suspended or if there's another issue. They can also issue you a new modem if yours died.

mine is not theirs. i have a linksys docsis 2 modem i bought off ebay for $20 about 4 years ago. if i called tech support they would probably tell me that docsis 2 is not compatible with their networks as they use docsis 3 now. thats what they told my mom anyway. i had to convince her that version 2 would work just fine. she didnt want to believe me either, she kept saying "yeah but charter told me i have to have a docsis 3"

i guess i can hope for a 24hr outage though... charter has a policy now where if your internet is down for more then 24 hours, you get a $20 account credit. i was shocked when i found that out... cable companies normally make you pay while their networks are crippled.

ohhh man i forgot my cell phone internet pretty much equals my cable. wow charter... theres just no excuse.

charter- $33.56 after taxes each month

tmobile 4g- $30 after taxes each month.

granted, a 250gb soft cap is better then a 5gb hard one but that charter price is a special 1 yr rate. well, it was a 6 month rate, then they raised it to 70, i called them and they said thats just the price now. i told them to cancel it and they said 'oh wait we can give you $30 a month for a year'. yeah, i knew you could.
