Called them today and they upgraded my speed for free, great. Decided to hop on usenet, which I haven't been on in ages. I start to download and notice it's butt slow, so I poke around and yes, Charter has it capped @ 2 connections with 50k being the top speed.
what good is having really fast internet if they're going to cap your shit? Last time I checked, usenet is probably the least popular, and least used thing for the average user. I know most ISP's usenet servers blow chunks in terms of retention and what they actually cache, but 50k/s is really pathetic. They could at least have the cap set at a resonable speed like 250k, which really isn't even that fast for a 8 meg connection.
