I finally canceled my Cable TV service with them and got Directv. I'm thrilled.

Twenty minutes ago, a guy knocks at my door. I open it. He's from Charter, here to install my cable TV service. Poor guy barely spoke any English and couldn't understand why I didn't want him to come in. Gave him a cup of coffee and sent him back to the office.

Fucking morons.

Not a rant - just a warning.

I canceled my Charter service years ago when they lied to me about showing up to repair a non working system 3 times. Two weeks after I canceled one of there "tech" people showed up at my door wanting me to tell him where the connection was so that he could disconnect my service. I told him it had not worked for weeks and it was his problem. I still get please come back letters but Direct TV is working great and my ATT DSL has bben stone reliable for years now. I get a 20ms ping and 3meg which works for me.

We use to get a bunch of free extended channels because they were too lazy to bother fixing the box to deny us more than the basic 13. Stayed with them for awhile mostly because they offered decent speeds in the area. I have to admit when it worked, it worked pretty well and I pinged things with pretty low latency.

And if you're wondering, they suck just as much on the business side as well. They use to like to change up their DNS servers or just randomly shut them down whenever they felt like it. No idea who thought that could be a good idea. Horrible support as well, but sure got their attention when they realized they were no longer going to get 18k a month for slow as shit speeds when we decided to build our own network.

so the tech that doesn't hardly speak English read the work order wrong and Charter sucks?

I'm so glad the satellite companies don't use subcontractors either.

I remember reading about a University of Michigan survey several years ago wherein Charter Communications had the lowest customer satisfaction of any company in any category in the United States.
From your experience, it appears that they are still working to maintain that standard.

We have been pleased with our service from Charter Communications for the past two years. We have two digital boxes, a DVR, expanded HD, phone and 23/1 internet for $115 per month + tax, locked in until 2012.

Keep up the good work Charter! :)

I dont know about the rest of you...but I have Charter and could absolutely not be happier. Customer Service thus far has been A+++ and what we are getting for the price is unheard of.

I have a 25mb line down, 5mb line up, and cable TV with HD for $59.99 a month. ROCK SOLID service and the fastest download speeds Ive ever seen...

AT&T on the other hand had shitty service (like the worst Ive ever dealt with) and was paying $54 a month for JUST internet at 3mb down, 250k up...I cant remember a single week that the internet didnt go down at least 10000 times...and we had techs out here SIX times each time never fixed shit.

Ive heard that a while back Charter sucked, but I love it!
