I'm about ready to dump Charter and go back to DSL/Satellite as I had before (long story involved with a move) but in the meantime I want to get a cable modem to replace theirs that they charge me $5 per month for. I asked them (I know silly thing to do but I had a weak moment) what modems they supported and of course I only got one name; Cable Docsis (sp). I know for a fact that most others will work but wanted some feedback from those that are using Charter without their "supplied" modem.
Sooo, any of you Charter users.....can you give me some feedback on what modem you are using? The more the merrier! :D TIA!!

This is not a manifactures name, this is the type of modem, a cable modem capable of DOCSIS which is the method they use to cap your line. It is a remote programming thing for your modem. I have used several modems on charter and as long as they are docsis complient they will work just fine.

Well, I guess we live and learn. I had not heard of the "Docsis" standard and yet that was the answer I was given when I asked what brand of cable modem they supported. Go figure. At least I know I can always get the scoop here at AT. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I will now be on the prowl for a cable modem in the FS/FT forum.
Thanks again!
