Chart for video card(model)comparision ATI and nvidia?

I am so confused with all different model of those new batch of video card. The have regualr, pro, no pro, SE, ultra....etc.


I guess i am also in the same boat as many other, looking for new card for up coming half life2. But there are so many ATI card model.

There are 9600 pro, 9600np, 9800np, 9800se, 9800pro, ultra? Also there are saying about 9700pro is better or 9500 is better? what the whole deal?

Like is 9800np better/faster than 9600pro/ultra??

Radeons from worst to best(128mb versions) :

9000pro/9100?..
9500np
9600
9600pro
9500pro IMHO its better then the 9600pro
9800se avoid like the plague (basically 9600 with faster core and memory)
some versions how ever can be hacked to a standard 9800np but not all
9700np
9700pro
9800np
9800pro


FX from worst to best :

5200
5600
5800
5900
respective ultra versions are better then the non ultra
again avoid any SE and such like the plague

thanks, for the clarify, i need that, these video card thang, getting outta hand, with all these confusing model scheme!

i kinda waiting another dell D4600 deal right now, probably going to upgrade it with a 9800, since, they don't carry the pro version for 4600 model.

But just wanna make sure, since sometime the bigger the number not garanttee better performance, (like what u said 9500 better than 9600 stuff)
