Okay, so far I've been sorta oblivious to the whole ricer boy thing...I actually think that most of the kits make the cars look pretty cool (stickers annoy the hell outta me though.)
Lately I noticed that since Charlotte teens have nothing better to do than going to movies or going to church, they've been showin' off their cars to chicks and cruisin' at the former establishment (doesn't make sense to do this at church I guess?) Now its progressed beyond that, to the point where these ricer clubs have almost become GANGS. Tonite I saw "Not Another Teen Movie" (fun filth!) and after the show all the cars were out. There's a club called Auto Junkies, and they split off from another group called Import Autosports (now they're rivals.) Then there's another group called FBI of Monroe that's all hicks in lowered, slammed chevy S10s and such (most of the teens in these groups are white or indo-asian--the blacks and asians hang out in different neighborhoods.)
Anyways, before it was all fun and games and me and my friends would just make fun of these stupid rich punk highschoolers while admiring the rides (a Civic Si with dual DVDs and graphical music fx is cool no matter how u look at ricerz!) Now things are different...now peeps are actually scared to look at them funny for fears that they might do something. Today I noticed there were some turf wars going on--typically Auto Junkies meets by the First Union ATM in the parking lot but today someone else was in that spot. As I drove by so a friend could withdraw money, someone mistakenly took my STOCK Volvo for a rival car and almost slammed into it with his truck in a menacing manner. This was messed up. The worst part is...THE COPS DON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!! They know that all these kids have parents who are boosters and fundraisers and they all think its fun too (NASCAR territory, but they'll take anything they can call a motorsport.) Roads were slick tonite with all the mist and fog, but that didn't stop the recruits from trying to strut their stuff--I saw an older civic hatchback spin out of control after grinding' the clutch and then surging forward.
My friends and I couldn't find a bar or a coffee shop to hang out at (this is Charlotte--everything that's not uptown closes at 10!) so we left the area and decided to take the freeway to another spot. As we get on the freeway, ahead of me I spot a Golf VR6 all tricked-out in the left lane--doing 40mph!!! Him and his buddy in the right lane (blocking all traffic) are trying to "challenge", since all the ricerz are out on the road right now. At this point I'm getting pissed so I started tailgating the Golf, and he took this as a challenge. His buddy let me move into the right lane and then we gunned our engines. He left me behind but the idiot couldn't weave through traffic, so I ended up ahead of him and forgot about him.
Anyways, so my friends and I finally pull into a decent spot (Steak & Shake) that happens to be next to an AMC theater--and LO AND BEHOLD!!! MORE RICERS PATROLLING THE LOT!!!! I was soooo ticked off, I just wanted to take a sledgehammer and smash up their rides. If I were on the West Coast or in a bigger city I could stand it, because there'd be other things to occupy my time. But no, I live in a pathetic little bible-belt hellhole that thinks its a metropolis (dumbasses can't even keep an NBA team after they just had their best season.) I have to share space with these people, and since the nightlife sucks there isn't much space to go around. Man does this piss me off....
