LSU got smashed by UGA for the SEC title.

All I'm saying is calling an entire conference frauds based on the outcome of a single game is stupid.
When I say frauds, I mean overhyped. Either the SEC was way overhyped or Big East was way underrated, I think it was the former personally. In any case, one game is a good determinant of an opinion IMO, it's like saying you can't form an opinion based on the outcome of the last Super Bowl (i.e. yes the AFC was better than the NFC). The Sugar Bowl for the SEC's best team was like their Super Bowl...

Still not really a good basis though. CF is full of so many upsets and bowls are no different. Plus, just because your best team is better than the best team from another conference, that doesnt mean the rest of your conference can't be crap and it also doesn't mean the rest of the other team's conference isn't any good. It simply means your best was better than their best on that day. WVU finished at 11-1. They didn't expose the SEC as frauds, they proved that they [WVU] were the real deal. Either way, I really don't think the SEC was overrated last year. Most analysts consistently ranked the SEC as the 3rd or lower best conference overall last year.

No.

I loved watching WVU beat up on UGA almost as much as you, but you can't conclude from that game that the Big East is way underrated, and the SEC is overrated. I'd imagine that if a Big East/SEC challenge (like they do in basketball) the SEC would win. Would some Big East times such as WVU/Louisville do well? Sure, but many of the other BE teams most likely wouldn't.

Yeah definitely agree that the SEC has more depth than the Big East, which is mainly only WVU/Louisville. Beyond those 2 they would probably lose... however, I think the UGA/WVU game showed us a lot with regards to strength of schedule. Media had predicted over a TD win for UGA. But yeah, in general I do agree that one team isn't necessarily indicative of a whole conference and only tells some of the story. To get a true test yeah, you would have each team play each other twice (in a perfect world).

This has probably been mentioned before, but...

Notre Dame sucks. They are everything that is wrong with college football today. ND has a special rule to get them a BCS game. Their schedule is always overrated. They haven't won a bowl game in 8 straight tries.

Join a conference, and play by the rules, stupid domers.

Classic jealousy, I love all you haters coming out. ROFL @ "Everything that is wrong with college football today". The ONLY THING wrong with college football today is there's no National Championship game, I guess you'll blame ND for that though since they have a "special rule" that gets them into a BCS game (show me that rule BTW).

Jealousy? Yeah, right. My team has actually WON a bowl game in its last 8 tries. Actually, they've won several of them.

The rule is, if Notre Dame finishes 8 or higher in the standings, they AUTOMATICALLY get a BCS bowl.

Notre Dame ALSO gets paid $1.3 million if it doesn't qualify for a BCS Bowl, from the BCS. What kind of bullshit is that? They could go 0-12, and get $1.3 mil.
