Rally sons of Notre Dame:
Sing her glory and sound her fame,
Raise her Gold and Blue
And cheer with voices true:
Rah, rah, for Notre Dame
We will fight in ev-ry game,
Strong of heart and true to her name
We will ne'er forget her
And will cheer her ever
Loyal to Notre Dame

Cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame,
Wake up the echoes cheering her name,
Send a volley cheer on high,
Shake down the thunder from the sky.
What though the odds be great or small
Old Notre Dame will win over all,
While her loyal sons are marching
Onward to victory.

Aww, I was looking forward to being the Anandtech OffTopic JonTheBaller's College Football Pool Champion too!

In reference to your "Mr. Soft Ass Poser" comments, I guarantee you my martial art skills would come out on top over your jock D&D "skills". But I can understand the need for name calling when you're safe. ;)

In all seriousness, as much as I don't like Notre Dame, here are my thoughts on Quinn:

He doesn't have the strongest arm, nor is he the most precise passer, but he has got some great on-the-spot decision making abilities. He's got great field awareness, great at finding the open reciever and not locking on to one, and a good ability to scramble if needed.

He will be drafted high and can easily be tuned into a solid NFL quarterback. I don't see him being an NFL star...but Quinn is easily a great player. He seems to have the "it" factor.

But with that said...thank you Willingham for recruiting this gem? ;)

LOL. Don't you watch movies? Martial-artists can dodge hundreds of bullets per second!

I've shot that exact same gun. Extremely accurate and fun.

This has probably been mentioned before, but...

Notre Dame sucks. They are everything that is wrong with college football today. ND has a special rule to get them a BCS game. Their schedule is always overrated. They haven't won a bowl game in 8 straight tries.

Join a conference, and play by the rules, stupid domers.

Classic jealousy, I love all you haters coming out. ROFL @ "Everything that is wrong with college football today". The ONLY THING wrong with college football today is there's no National Championship game, I guess you'll blame ND for that though since they have a "special rule" that gets them into a BCS game (show me that rule BTW).

You're right, I don't have the balls to go around killing people randomly, eventhough I own a rifle for target shooting and personal defense. I must be sub-human  Please, continue to act like a hardass martial artist on the internet. Does your sensei know you're trying to call out random people on messageboards for fist fights? You rack disserprine.

Oh come on... one game? LSU beat Miami 40-3 in their bowl. The SEC hasn't been as good and a bit overrated the past couple years, but the conference can hardly be called "frauds". Please...

UGA won the SEC and so much sht was talked about the Big East being a joke and how great the SEC was in comparison. You should have seen the UGA fans when we were leaving the game, they agreed that they were overrated (meaning fraudulently hyped). What does LSU beating Miami have to do with anything? LSU got smashed by UGA for the SEC title.

All I'm saying is calling an entire conference frauds based on the outcome of a single game is stupid.

Yes, it is a special rule. Many of the Bowls that are set up involving the Big East have language that will say Big East #2 or Notre Dame (for example the Gator), or Big East #3 or Notre Dame. ND has always had special treatment b/c of their overhyped team. They are too p%%%%% to join a conference because they will lose some money from sharing with their conference.

If ND is ranked @ a certain spot or higher they get an auto BCS bid.

SEC as a conference is actually good, I was exagerrating. but their OOC scheduling and insistance to play out of conference games at home is pretty pathetic

look at their some of their 2006 OOC schedule

ALABAMA: Hawaii (home), Louisiana-Monroe (home), Duke (home), Florida International (home)
AUBURN: Washington State (home), Buffalo (home), Tulane (home), Arkansas State (home)
FLORIDA: Southern Miss (home), Central Florida (home), Western Carolina (home), Florida State (away)
GEORGIA: Western Kentucky (home), UAB (home), Colorado (home), Georgia Tech (home)
LSU: UL-Lafayette (home), Arizona (home), Tulane (home), Fresno State (home)
TENNESSEE: California (home), Air Force (home), Marshall (home), Memphis (home)

They play some reasonable teams there, but almost all of them are at home, its a pretty big home feild advantage , specially in SEC country where fans are so into football

As a comparison look at pac 10(which I agree top to bottom isnt as strong as sec) but look at their OOC schedule and how many teams they are playing on the road

Arizona: BYU, @ LSU, Stephen F. Austin
ASU: Nothern Arizona, Nevada, @ Colorado
Cal: @ Tennessee, Minnesota, Lousiana Tech
Oregon: @ Fresno St., Oklahoma, Utah St.
Oregon St: Eastern Washington, @ Boise St, Idaho
Stanford: San Jose St, Navy, @ Notre Dame
UCLA: Utah, Rice, @ Notre Dame
USC: @ Arkansas, Nebraska, Notre Dame
Washington St: @ Auburn, Idaho, Baylor
Washington: San Jose St, @ Oklahoma, Fresno St.

almost all the teams (even the ones on the lower end) are also playing strong teams on the road

sec teams should start travelling a bit away from home to play better schools rather than scheduling everyone at home. Auburn didnt schedule a home and home game with Washington st, they arent playing them in Washington st next year.

Well, I do think some teams should play more OOC on the road, but I think you need to look at more than just one year though. You also only listed half the SEC teams.

I know , but isnt it strage, so many of the teams, atleast the better ones are playing so many OOC games at the home, in the same year, anyway I will try to find out the schedule for next year and so.

Your team is coming to play my team this year at home... LOL. Though we did "play" at your place last year ("play" is in quotes because I'm not sure what they did could be considered actual football).

yeh, that should be interesting, I still dont know what to think about USC this season. JD Booty should be good, lets see if he has the same kind of coolness in pressure that Leinart had. Playing USC at home is pretty hard too, maybe not as hard as some of the SEC stadiums, but still, so I wouldnt think of the last game while watching this one. I am going to miss watching Bush though :( one of the best players I have ever seen

Well, I'm glad Bush won't be there :p He pretty much single handedly dismantled Arkansas last year. I don't think it will be a huge blowout like last year, but I still have no confidence in our head coach. Much of the state has wanted him gone for 2-3 years, but he is apparently the AD's pet so we can't seem to force him out :(

I fully expect USC to win, I just hope Arkansas can keep the score respectable this year. The defenese should be much better though. They improved a lot by the end of last year and this will be their second year under the defensive coordinator.

Anyway, I'll be going to the game and am still hoping it's a good one.
