I guess people don't read books anymore :(

Ok, I can't believe nobody konws where this is from. I thought it was one of the best books ever....

Anyone remember this ?

Once upon a time there was an engineer,
Choo Choo Charlie was his name we hear.
He had an engine and it sure was fun,
he used Good and Plenty candy, to make his train run.
Charlie says: "Love my Good and Plenty, they really ring my bell!"
"Love my Good and Plenty candy,
don't know any other candy, that I love so well!"

Great series. I'm reading Wolves of the Calla right now having just finished Wizard and Glass (which was the best book I'd ever read). So far WotC is right up there as well!

I loved the Wastelands. I'm reading The Wizard and Glass now. Most people say it's not as good as the Wastelands, but I like it so far.

Is The Wolves of Calla the last book in the series or is there supposed to be more?

There are two more. The next one is called "The Song of Susanah" and comes out in June. The final one, "The Dark Tower" comes out in September.

The Wastelands is a freakin' wonderful book. Blaine is in fact, a pain. I'll never think of Charlie the Choo-choo the same way again. I've read the series through book 4. I'm waiting for the final 3 to be released so I can just take a week off and read them all at once.

Depends on how you like the flashback. I enjoyed it and I loved the ending. Can't wait for the new one to come out.

Indeed. I thought the flashback was the best story King has told in the entire series. It was awesome, especially the ending. The characters were just fantastic. I love Cuthbert!

I've read all five books so far. The Wizard and the Glass is far and away the best book of the series.

I always the series would make a terrific anime movie. It's got just the right mix of sci-fi, fantasy and violence :D.

I've always thought that as well.

Personally, I think the first book (the gunslinger) is the best. Simple, mysterious, very western. The series has morphed into something totally different...not that I don't love it, but I've probably read the gunslinger 4 times for each time I've read the other books in the series.

The first definitely stands out from the others. I believe that King wrote it when he was in college (or just out of college). You can definitely see the influence of creative writing classes ;). I haven't read the original Gunslinger, only the "tweaked" version that was released a few years ago.
