What's cute is how people such as yourself will never know who badly regan damaged the economy.

Regan put into motion economic change that to this very day are still destroying the economic future of the middle class. Everything from lowing the income taxes on the super rich, taxes that were used to fund college educations for the poor and middle class, to allowing shipyards to were vital to national security and economic stability of the south to close.

Just in the Beaumont and Orange Texas area in the early 1980s over 10,000 people lost their jobs. At least three shipyards closed. It has taken 30 years to recover from the economic devastation to this one area under regan. Wages will never recover to what they would have been if regan had protected the shipyards and thousands of families those jobs supported.

After the shipyards closed, people went from making $17 - $20 an hour to making $8 an hour. Skilled workers were making 6 times minimum wage in the late 1970s.

Today, people doing similar work are not making anywhere near 6 times minimum wage.

As for Charlie, everything listed in the opening post is a lie.

The problem with TH and virtually every other conservative, is that they only care about issues that negatively affect them, if it negatively affects someone else, "who the fuck cares".

If he was just a tad bit capable of seeing issues from those that are affected negatively by his currently held views, he would do a 180 on his positions.

If I were to take his normal position on his rant I'd tell him it's his fault and he deserved what he got and should learn to take responsibility for his actions, or in this case a lack of actions (ie he should have learned a new trade or moved to a different area or he should have gotten a better education).

Of course I could never take his usual position because I'm capable of understanding other peoples circumstances even though I've never gone through what they have.

What? I thought liberals always claimed the exact opposite. That conservatives spend TOO MUCH time worrying about issues that don't negatively affect them.

Case in point:

Abortion
Same-sex marriage.

Yeah, I worded that wrong; they only take the side of an issue if it impacts them directly, otherwise they couldn't care less. All other issue they take the side of whatever issue supports their personal beliefs.

For example: abortions don't impact conservatives directly so they couldn't care less about someone else's reasons why they would want access to abortions.

Gay marriage: they have no problem denying gay couples the same rights as straight couples until its their daughter/son that's being affected.

Clean water regulation: they will side with a coal plant who dumps waste into water ways until the water they drink becomes affected.

“I couldn’t be consistent with myself and my core beliefs, and stay with a party that was so unfriendly toward the African-American president, I’ll just go there,” he said.

Ya, it has nothing to do with the fact that he set a new record for campaign promises broken, was more concerned with HealthCare Insurance than a 10.2% unemployment rate, repeatedly lied his ass off, on and on..... It's because he's black. Never mind the fact that the Repubs had a black candidate as well, but you know, ours was just for show even though we dropped his ass because his ideas sucked.
