Hey all,
I work with high schoolers in a pretty high income, privileged area. We're doing a Christmas party next Saturday.
Rather than do a Secret Santa or White Elephant gift exchange, I'm asking them to bring $10 they earned themselves. I'd like to pool that cash and have them select from a list of children or teens who are in more desperate need than they are.
However, I'm not seeing any online sites where there are unique individual profiles with needs in the range of $60. I'd like something like KIVA, except where the recipients are closer to the age of my kids. WorldVision has a great sponsorship program where you can pick your kids by name, country, interest, etc.
I envision giving them a list of profiles where the subject is asking for something that meets a basic need - whether that's a homeless kid in an inner city looking for a sleeping bag or a third world country hoping for a cow.
Does anyone know of any sites where I could pull profiles like this so my kids can pick one to contribute their Christmas gift money to?
