Please. They weren't asking for much and it's a good cause. MS is pretty greedy. Bill Gates uses more money than that to wipe his ass after he takes a sh*t.

doesn't matter, i don't see where they come off thinking they should be pissed at ms. if ms wants to donate, fine, if they don't, fine. they're not obligated to. companies should not be expected to be charitable, that's not what they're about.

They only asked for 2,300 licenses. Do you know how many copies of Windows are pirated daily? This wouldn't affect them at all. Yes they don't have to do it, but it makes them look bad and greedy.

Well, if you give to one cahrity, then everybody else's gonna ask for copy of their software. And you end up being asked 2,300,000 copies.

regardless, they shouldn't be expected to be charitable. if everybody were required to share wealth, we wouldn't have much to motivate us now would we?

edit: i think i'm getting off my original point, which is that these people shouldn't be so pissed off at other people for their own faults. take responsibility people!

I'm sure that this is NOT the only charity that Microsoft is involved with. If they give these people $200,000 worth of software, then everyone else expects the same. I think it's in bad taste to complain about a DONATION given to you buy a corporation. When given something for free, it's bad manners to complain about it. I don't think it matters where it came from.

edit: I'm sure that there are other companies that they can, or do, deal with. Where are they in this? What about trying to raise money from other companies to get more computers and buy some licenses from Microsoft? As a charity, should they just get everything for free, without work and by only one company?

Bill Gates gives away more millions and billions than you can shake a stick at to charities and third-world nations for AIDS relief and treatment.

Maybe he should wipe his a$$ on a $1 bill and smear it in your face ;)

On a side note: As many billions as Bill Gates is worth, when he dies, his kids only get 10 million each. That's nothing compared to how much he has. The rest goes to various charities, I believe. Just because he's rich beyone belief, doesn't mean he's greedy.

I KNOW he gives away lots of money. My point was...WTF is $200k? DIDDLY SH*T TO THEM :p I already said they aren't obliged to do this...I'm just saying it seems so friggin stupid that they don't. Maybe they should just teach the kids Linux instead. That would change microsloth's mind right away.

btw, bill gates doesn't own any $1 bills so it would probably be a $100 that i'd clean off and keep. :p

well i just think it's pretty sh!tty of them to turn around and bite the hand that feeds them (albeit not very much :)). and they obviously can't fulfill everybody's needs, so i don't think it's that stupid that they didn't do it. they have to look after themselves too, they didn't get where they were by giving money away.

Waah, waah, you're not giving me enough free stuff. Who's greedy here? Not MS. This charity can go under for all I care.
