I'm looking for some devices to allow charging of multiple iDevices at the same time. This is for my kids' school. They have 20+ iDevices to charge and we need some sort of device (or a couple of devices) to facilitate this.

Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Maybe a USB hub?

I read some random postings about that. Depends on the hub it seems as even a powered hub may not deliver enough juice.

There are some 4 port USB wall outlets I've seen. If I grabbed 4 of those (and dealt with a tangle o USB cables) it would be cheap and efficient I think.

I believe there are some 20 port USB hubs, but I think they only supply 500ma per port.

If you want to go more of the DIY route, you could probably find a cheap small rolling metal cabinet on craigslist, then install a few multi-port electrical extensions and wire them together to make one external plug. Or install a small junction box inside the cabinet that your three or four extensions plug in to. Then just make a way to seperate the ipads from each other vertically and install some cable management anchor points.

You could probably do this for < $200.

You need to look at a few things. A lot of people are saying USB hubs, but as mentioned - they provide a minimal amount of power. It'll be fine charging one device, but as you put more in they will start to slow down. It also will not work with iPads - they require 10watt plugs. You're probably best wiring up your own using the wall plugs that have USB plugs, but they're not really cheap themselves.
