Can the iPod Nano be charged on another computer that doesnt have the iPod software or iTunes installed with the use of the dongle cable?

I connected my iPod to my work PC and the system did recognize it, but the iPod screen said "Do not disconnect" It didnt say anything about charging.

iPod probably only likes "powered" USB ports. Maybe the USB port you used was a hub that doesn't provide enough power. Although I would think if this was the problem, the system wouldn't "recognize" it. *shrug*

Its a built in USB 2 port. I'm trying it now, even though it states "Do not disconnet" i'll check the battery bar afterwards.
