Simply touch your multimeter probes to the blades while they are contacting the battery terminals, or periodically stop charging the battery and check the charged voltage. If it has a full charge indicator on the screen, also check what the battery voltage is the moment it reaches this level, then leave it on the charger for at least of minutes more to see if it is still charging.
If the cover prevents accessing the blades while charging, you might see if you can drill a couple holes in it for better access, or partially disassemble the charger to gain access to the back of the blades. It is difficult to know which way is easiest without the charger in front of me, but the main thing is that it does not charge past 4.20V, and if it stops at a little less than that, it will extend the # of recharge cycles of your batteries further, but they will not reach their rated capacity if not all the way to 4.20V.
