Charged for more than agreed...

On 9/25/01, I was browsing online at BestBuy when I happened upon a laptop for $0. I ordered it, knowing it was a misprice. No big deal. I expected it to be cancelled. It shipped 2 days later and I had confirmation of the $0 price. A day after shipping (and I was supposed to receive it 3 days later), I was charged. Anyone ever have any experience like this? Not only did they charge me, they charged me $100 than the correct price...
Just wondering if people have ever had this happen to them... if I have a shot at disputing and winning this, etc, or if I should just let it go and chalk it up to "SO CLOSE".

It'd be no big deal if it were cancelled BEFORE it shipped. After shipping seems to be this magical point of no return though.

What do you people think?

You should be able to return it without being charged at all. It was BB's mistake. Also, if you were overcharged by $100, you should be able to come back at them and at least expect them to adjust your bill for the difference. Don't try to fight it and get the lappy for nothing. It will be a huge hassel, and you won't win.

I believe that is illegal for them to do.

That's equivalent to buying something marked for 10 dollars in a B&M store, and then 5 days later have them put another few bucks on your card because they screw up. As long as you have the bill of sale (packing slip in this case) that states $0.00, you should be able to dispute this.

I agree that you shouldn't try to get it.

Price mistakes were cute in the beginning, but don't people realize that exploiting such loopholes only drive up prices in the long run?

if u have all the proof that it was confirmed for $0, then take it up with ur credit card company or best buy CSR.

Dispute it with the credit card company.. try to get the laptop for $0. Fvck Bestbuy.. If they advertised it at that price, you get it at that price - especially when they are too stupid to correct it before they ship it. Do not take it to a B/M store.. Don't even contact them.. Let them contact you after they find out they can't charge your card for it.
