I got one of those plug in chargers (energizer?) does anyone else charge their controllers full time?

Is this safe to do? Does this shorten the life of the controller?

I'm pretty sure if you charge it from the PS3 using the USB cable it will stop charging itself after it reaches 100%. You can tell because the light stops blinking.

Yes. Since it uses a lithium battery, the controller has to have a built in charge circuit to prevent over charging. Once it reaches it's peak voltage, it will stop. You don't have to worry about over charging it.

I have a question for you. Just to make sure. It's okay to plug in the DS3 into my netbook right (I mean in terms of charging and the battery)? I have DS3 drivers for XP, and I use the DS3 when I play PS1 games through PS1 emulator.

I usually charge my DS3 by plugging it into my laptop or desktop.

I usually have my controller tethered via USB to the PS3 all the time, so its always charging, even when I am playing. When I have gone wireless I have not noticed any significant drop in battery life. This is with 2 Sixaxis and 1 DS3.

I have a stand thing i bought for like 15 bucks.
Plugs into the wall and holds 2 controllers.
Colored red when charging and green when its fully charged. Works pretty well.

Same. So when one gets to low battery, I switch the two. That way you drain the battery mostly, which is good for the lifespan, and always have an extra.
