I don't like having to power down in order to gain more juice. A battery pack is more useful imo

They all have their uses.

Battery pack or plugging in are ok if you are stationary at a desk.

Battery swap is better if you are out and about.

You know, you can't use external battery packs if you use removable batteries...Oh wait-

For the price of powering down, I get a fresh battery nearly instantly, as well as carefree phone usage. And for the price of risking running out of juice on an atypical day of usage, you get a nice unibody. Neither choice is inherently superior. It's up to the individual to decide what group of benefits he values more.

I agree with all of this.

With the addition that opportunistic charging does not negate the functional negatives of a unibody.

The way I see it, this thread comes down to what an individual prefers based on what they find convenient or inconvenient, possible or impractical for their personal phone usage needs/habits.

There will never be a single right answer or conclusion for everyone. Ever.

That being said, from my experience, I don't care about having a removable battery. I find it rather simple to understand that particular limitation of my phone and to make allowances for it as necessary.

Of course, I wouldn't mind having a removable battery if it didn't affect the capacity of the battery. However I find battery cases more convenient than a removable battery but their availability is limited based on your phone. It is the one thing I miss about using an iPhone (have an HTC DNA now).
