Chapped lip woes

I've always had a problem with chapped lips but this past week its gotten out of control. My lips have been chapped 24/7 and nothing seems to work. I'm using a Neosporin lip treatment now with is ok, but its not really fixing anything. I have to put it on in thick layers which helps for a little while, but the second I touch even a small place or it starts to wear off my lips are chapped again and I have to put on another thick ass layer.

Anyone else have bad problems with chapped lips? Can someone reccomend me a good chapstick/lip balm? I dont care if its over the counter or perscription or how much it costs, I just need something.

Chapstick medicated. It may be psychosomatic, but I think it actually helps heal my lips as opposed to other lip balms which just feel like they coat them.

You NEED a product called Aquaphor, it's in a toothpaste-like tube and the labeling looks like eucerin labeling (made by the same company)...

I had very severe dry lips for a long time, and once I started using this stuff regularly (before bed at night and in the morning when things got a little worse), the condition really improved.

I have Aquaphor and its been the main thing I use for the last few years and it use to work pretty well, but this past week even that hasnt been doing anything. It just coats my lips and the second it comes off I need to put more on, doesnt actually heal my lips.

Ill go pick up some Blistex today. What does the "medicated" mean? Are they all Blistex Medicated or is the medicated one a special one?

increase your water intake, and don't bite, nibble, wet with saliva your lips as that will worsen the condition immensely.

Chop saver is the best, next is plain old petroleum jelly. Chop saver is designed specifically for brass instrument players because split lips means they can't play at all, so as you can imagine it works very well.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Now that I think about it I guess I have been drinking less water lately. Ill try some of the different chapsticks everyone suggested too.

Another vote for Blistex. Make sure you put some on before you go to sleep too.
