According the the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice), adultery is most assuredly a crime and can be punished with prison time.

When I was a Sgt in the Army, I caught one of my men committing adultery with the wife of another one of my men. I turned him in and he spent six months in jail and was then given a bad conduct discharge.

You have to understand that it's a bit different in the military. In my case for example, we were in a front line infantry unit. Men had to know that they could trust their lives in the hands of their fellow soldiers. If a soldier is going to screw over his buddy like that in a time of peace, what might that soldier do when things were bad.

Yes, I believe sleeping with another service member's spouse is an offense under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).
