First, the graphics. The shadows suck. They are nicely detailed, shape wise, but accompanied with artifacts all around the shadows. Talk about low polygon count. This seems worse than the other games in the series except for maybe the first one. It's bad though. Specular lighting is kinda cool, but only for wet surfaces, Why would I want something dry to look shiny as if it were wet. And the really crappy ocean graphics. Those were just plain disgusting. And all this is pretty taxing on hardware. Doom 3/HL2 looks better and run better. All CT has is great textures, which don't look good many times due to artifacts if you don't have a SM3.0 capable card. That's a big market to just kick in the face like that.
Now, the AI bugs. Splinter Cell when it was first released was a cool game, but was frustrating at times because of AI bugs. Pandora Tomorrow was amazing combining a bit better graphics with better level design and all the AI bugs were fixed. I had no problems and played worry free till the end. I loved it. Now I play this and all the bugs are back. Such as, and this is just one example, someone spotting my with a flashlight while I was in complete cover behind a wall.
This game feels half-assed.
EDIT:
Oh yeah, the enemy is better at using guns that we are. Come on, I know we operate stealthy and barely use guns, but we are talking government secret operatives. These are experts. Obviously not expert enough to defeat some stupid soldier.
And when I shoot for the head, with the dot on the crosshair right in the middle of his head, without a helmet, why do I miss? How, it happens so often and it's BS. How did he dodge it? He couldn't dodge an ambush.
