I went to the concert and spent like 8 hrs there. Awesome stuff though. Totally worth it. I thought Bowling for Soup would suck live (they rock on album, but I thought they would turn out to be too loud or something). Instead they owned and they sounded pretty close to album. Better than Ezra was awesoome although not as good as I hoped for it to be.

In any case this beats the crap out of the Modest Mouse concert I went to. That was just disgusting.

Anyone went today?
 
Thought about it, but I'm not a really big fan of any of the bands. This years BFD didn't have that great of a line up either... until the Foo Fighters signed up at the last minute.

Did you go to the TBS/JEW concert? That was a pretty good one.
 
The Coldplay concert in Mountain View just sold out =(

I'm thinking about Green Day + Jimmy Eat World. Damnit, why doesn't Green Day just go to Berkeley... their hometown.
 
the fact that you wanted them to sound just like the album and you went to a channel 104.9 concert go hand in hand and say something about you: you shouldn't be listening to music.

maybe because the biggest venue in Berkeley is at a HIGH SCHOOL and maxes out at 3,500 people?

and the green day/JEW bill has filled entire stadiums? and there are stadiums in oakland, which touches berkeley? and they have played said stadiums? and sold them out? and that they couldn't play the gilman, even if they wanted to (and yes, they have tried), because the gilman doesn't allow major label bands?

Edit: And for Linkin Park, I don't know why some ppl like them but I'm sure many like them beacuse they give a nice beat and what not. THey just sound like screaming idiots on stagge and it's really bad. You like songs based on what they sound like on album before you go out and listen. So when you do go and listen at a concert you have some expectations. Your expectation is not for just screaming, but rather you have a baseline and it is the album vers. ehh If you're one of those hardcore rockers that dress up and anything.. go ahead.

Edit: Then why does Jack Johnson perform at the Greek Theater in Berkeley? That sells out in like 2 min because its a small venue too.
