Changing UDMA settings on Laptop?

Hey guys wondering if you can help me out. I purchased a used laptop through my work, it's a Compaq Armada M700, p3 650, 12gb ibm travelstar hd, 576mbs of ram. Anyway, i formatted and installed windows2000. Everything is running pretty good, but i noticed after downloading Sandra, it says my HD is in UDMA2 mode and can be in UDMA4 mode. Is there a utility or any app that allows me to change the dma mode? I tried downloading Intel App Accel, but it doesn't apply to my chipset. From what i found out i have a 430BX chipset. Any suggestions?

Maybe - that is determined by the BIOS together with the chipset. You can check in Device Manager and the HDD properties and see if it is available. otherwise . . . ?
