Changing the format on a file

Sam443

I accidently formatted a file with the wrong program. I want to know how to change a .scc file to .doc file.

what do you mean you formatted it? There are two types of SCC files. One type of SCC files is a generic text, while another is some type of Secure file format from MS. What applications use this extension, though I am unaware.

You have not stated how yours was made.

If while in one application you used "Save As" then the original file still exists. This is because "Save As" does not overwrite the existing file but rather creates a new one in the format specified. Now if this was done in Word, then Word will still be able to open the file and read it. You can then choose to "Save As" a Word doc "DOC".
