Changing the fan of the PSU...

I know that it isn't that hard to physically change the fan (I mean you just have to unscrew the old one and screw the new one).
My question is about the connection. I have oppened my PSU and saw that the fan isn't connected with a regular 3 pin or 4 pin connector but is instead directly soldered to the PSU.
So how should I connect it? And how should I take off the wiring of the old fan? Can I simply cut it? Would there be a problem by doing so?

If any of you have done something similar please help.
Thanks!!

SImply splice it, match color for color. Solder it if you have the means. Use heat shrink or lots of well-applied electrical tape to cover it.

SuperSix has it . . . you simply cut, strip, splice, solder and tape. Have done it many times. Recommend that you replace the old fan with a good ball bearing one of the same size (usually 80 mm).

...or you can simply cut/strip the wires, match color-for-color, twist, and apply di-electric goop (if you have any around the house), and wait about 10 min. or so to put everything back together. 🙂
