changing the email associated with your gamertag?

Seems like a dumb question , but when I signed up for xbox live and created my gamertag, I put a different email address in than the one I really wanted to use. The one I used is associated with a Live Messenger account that I don't want to use with xbox. Is there any way to change the email address associated with that gamertag? I spent quite a bit of time poking around and couldn't figure out how to do it.

Yeah I changed mine when comcast took over my previous cable company.

Just go into your xbox live account management and you should see an option to change it.. I did it from the website. (live.xbox.com)

But you may be able to do it from your xbox also..
 
I'll check the web site. I did find where I could change my email address in the the account management section, but it doesn't change the email address used for my Live ID.

I fyou don't find it before I have time, I'll give you step-by-step how I did it.
 
Go login to live.xbox.com

Click on manage profile, then click on billing and contact information.

You'll see your e-mail address listed there..

Also on that screen where you see all of your information, click on "my billing information" and then click on "my personal information" to change your email address there.
 
It doesn't work. Well... let me clarify, it does. But... it didn't accomplish what I really wanted to do and what I wanted to do, is apparently impossible.
I basically wanted to associate a different live id with my gamer tag. You can change your contact e-mail in the manage profile section. You can also go to account.live.com and change your live id (as long as it's not a hotmail or msn email address) but, doing this does NOT disassociate it from your gamertag. So I'm stuck with the live messenger account that I've got, unless I want to choose a new gamertag... I guess it's not that big of a deal, i'll just keep it how it is. It's too bad though that it has to be this way.
 
I've changed both my email address and gamertag in the time that I've owned my 360... you've gotta pay 800 MS points to change your gamertag though.
