Changing the default partition

Hello, folks!

I'd like to know if there is a way to change the partition where the software gets installed by default. I want to separate a system partition from the applications partition on my daughter's computer, but I don't want to remind her every time she installs something to change C: to D: in all the "where to install" prompts.

Is there a way to automate that?

Just posted the original question yesterday evening. Came back today in the morning, and it's on page 3 already. Ouch! What kind of traffic is on this board? 🙂
