changing the bios pic

hi, I'm running win2k pro on dell inspiron.
everytime I boot up the computer, I see that dell picture while it's booting up.
I was wondering if I could change that pic to something else or just remove it?

are you talking boot screen or splash screen? I know there are a bunch of splash screens to replace the Windows one when booting up if that's what you are talking about. Just have a looksie over on google for windows boot screens and you will find all sorts of pages with people's art and instructions to make you own.

I dont know what its called.
I'm talking about the screen that comes up when it first boots up . when it's loading the drivers and like checking the ram and things.
Is this called splash screen?

I think you are looking for this:

Intel Splash Screen Utility.

It's under the additional information on this page, read the test file and it should have all the information on what to do.

I'm not actually sure who makes Dell laptop motherboards; I know that the last time I checked it was Intel who was making their workstation motherboards. I know you need a Phoenix bios to use this utility, what I'm not sure is whether or not it will work with non-Intel boards.

Sounds kinda risky to me considering you don't know if it will work for your on your laptop. I don't think getting rid of that screen is worth chancing screwing the laptop up. 🙂
