Changing the battery inside an SNES cartridge???

I have a copy of Secret of Mana that won't hold save games anymore. I remember reading in old GamePro mags that this happens once the internal battery dies.

Does anyone know how easy it is to change this battery (I assume its a standard watch battery) or happen to have a link that would explain further?

I have a bit set for those type of screws, I will see if I can find the link for where I purchased them. Changing the battery is fairly easy.

Also... do not forget EMULATION!

zsnes is practically perfect.. and you already own the games

No battery to die on you, save anywhere.. etc etc 🙂

It's probably a security torx bit, you can buy them at some hardware stores, or POSSIBLY a radio shack, or just drill it out.

As I recall, it's usually just a watch battery inside. Open it up and see what's in there.

Try looking on Ebay. Try searching for "game bit" or something like that. I got one for about $5 a while back.
