changing showerheads

is this something I can do by unscrewing the head part or do I have to deal with plumbing in the wall ? It looks like I can unscrew it halfway to the wall but it's got caulk in there and I don't know if I'm supposed to replace it from there or at the wall.

I'd like to change it to ones where we have the option of holding it or leaving it holstered up there.

Unscrew the head part and replace that. Shouldn't need to remove the pipe from the wall.
Make sure you use a strap wrench and thread tape when you put the new head on.

Thread tape, or just soap (bar soap-just put it on the threads to fill the gaps and then put the new head on.

heh i need to replace the shower head here. I was thinking about one of those "rainfall" ones. but darn they are expensive.

so they are easy to replace? hate to screw it up and have a plumber come in to fix it.

How are the rainfall ones anyway? Right now I have some "high-pressure" one that is called Tidal Wave or something I got from walmart. It does the job and makes the water feel a lot stronger.

I don't want no weak water falling on me, I want STRONG WATER!! ARGGHH
