Security updates forbid me to change my screen resolution the easy and normal way... via a desktop right click.

is there any other way to switch it back to 1024x768??
 
If IT has it locked down by policy then you'd really need to talk to them. The LCD should be operating at native resolution, so if it isn't then that's actually a problem they need to fix.
