Changing refresh rates in Win2k?

Well, if your running older drivers (like the 1.00 ones up to the leaked 0525 ones) you can run dxdiag and in the more help tab youll find a button that says override. Click it and set a refresh rate that is good for ALL the resolutions you run games in (I use 100 because my monitor can take it at just about every resolution). Now if your running the new 3dfx beta drivers, your basically screwed. The override thing only works with D3d with the new 3dfx drivers. It sucks bad, makes my Quake3 and UT run at a blinding 60Hz. If anyone knows how to change the refresh rate in glide/OGL with the new drivers please share it!

I don't really want to lock in a certain refresh rate for one resolution, but different ones for certain resolutions, like 100hz for 640x480, 85 for 1024x768 etc..

As far as I know there is no way to do that in 2k. Thats definately one thing 98 seems to handle better. At least its better than running your games at 60Hz. 😉
