Can I change from RAID 1 back to RAID 0 without messing up my OS (XP Home) install? I have a 36G Raptor & a 250G Seagate in the system on a Silicon Image controller card that I added after the HDD controller on the Abit motherboard died. I did not want a RAID setup but could not get it to work otherwise & would like to use the space on the Seagate drive. Thanks for any help.

AFAIK, you have to rebuild the RAID array. The safest way is to image the RAID1 array to a backup external drive. Rebuild the array to RAID 0 and then restore the backed up image to the array.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it would probably be a "all data will be lost" deal.
