Changing popup title on a tray icon

The title really says it all. I have a tray icon that has a popup title that appears when I put the cursor over it that I would like to change -- shorten. I have searched the registry and in the program directory without finding the text sequence in the popup title. I would assume this is an easy thing to do if you know how. I don't.
Thanks

If the program doesn't have an option to change the text... you could try using a hex editor and actually finding the string in the executable file.

It'd probably be better if you gave more information about what you're trying to do though.
