Changing out monitors

Hey all, looking for a bit of advise on my monitor situation - looking to upgrade/consolidate a little bit.

Currently I have a 3x display setup with a 32" Samsung 1080p TV in the middle and a Dell S2240M (21.5"/1080p) on each side. There are so many issues with this setup its not even funny, from the massive size difference, the massive desk space used up, Dells are very glossy - Samsung is matte, and on and on. Also I sit way too close to the 32" and I think it's casing me eye/neck strain.

I've got a buyer for the 32" so that leaves me with what to replace it with. I really like having dual monitors to multitask but I game primarily. I do like to have a web browser or YT open on the side while gaming. Games are LoL, SC2, BF4 for the most part. My options as I see them are:

  • Dual 27" 1080p
  • Single 27" 1440p + one exising Dell 22"
  • LG Ultrawide 29" 1080p

I'm afraid the 29" Ultrawide is going to be losing too much in height, and the 34" is out of budget. Plus I don't think SC2 plays nice with the 21:9 ratio. I've got 2x 7950 so I think that 1440p is do-able. Right now I've got a lead on a 27" 1440p monitor for ~$200 which seems to be a steal, but I can get the LG for not a whole lot more.

Right, I already have 2x S2240M but they are too small. And the single 32 is too big. From what I hear 1440p is pretty amazing, but it seems like getting 2x 1440p would be a real waste because you can't effectively game on 2 screens.

21:9 likely won't play well in SC2 or mobas from what I hear. The esports crowd is real stupid about not letting people get a "competitive advantage", so it just chops the top and bottom off and hoses anyone trying to actually play games on their monitor.
