Changing my Ram Timings

Okay, last time I tried changing my Ram timings i completely fuxored my comp and i have to reset the cmos, but anandtech says "OCZ 3700EB, and the similar 3500EB, are also based on Micron memory chips, which appear to be a better match to the Socket 939 than other memory chips that we have tested. The EB takes a little different approach to memory timings, and runs at 2.5-2-2 at DDR 400"

I tried running mine @ 2-3-2 and my computer was just beeping like crazy. Can I change it to 2.5-2-2 like anand or am i just taking a stupid risk?

I took this from the new high end buyers guide on anandtech http://www.anandtech.com/guide...oc.aspx?i=2185&p=4

Okay im running @ 2.5-2-2:8 now w00t.

But i have a question, is 8 bad? What does it mean? I know the 1st 3 are supposed to be low, but is the last one supposed to be high?

8 is fine. There is almost no performance difference between 6 and 10 in the testing I have done. The EB is very good stuff. Mine will run up to 245 with 2.5-2-2-10 timings at 2.9v memtest stable or 255+ with 3-2-2-10 timings at 3.0v and has will run 275 at 3-4-3-10 at 3.0v, but is not totally stable there. Good stuff! Funny thing is that I seem to run superpi the same or faster with cas 3 compared to cas 2.5. Go figure.
