I remember an article in which someone advised to go into the registry and delete some keys that force your system to look for new IDE controllers or chipsets on reboot? Does anyone know about this I'm going from a a7v to a a7vKT266 and I deleted the old IDE (Via) Bus controller now it's stuck on the blinking cursor....Help

try reinstalling your OS over top of itself...should leave all your files and programs alone but will reconfigure all your hardware...and that key deletion is kinda iffy...its the enum key under hkey_local_machine...there is also a different way to do it that you can try
