Changing Motherboards

I just got a eVGA 133-K8-NF41 motherboard (it came with the 7800gt). Right now i have an Asus A8V Deluxe and i want to swap them about without having to do a clean install of XP. I have seen a few guides on how to do this with an IDE drive but not a SATA drive like i have. Do i have any chance of doing this? Thanks

youdeardaniel did the motherboards have different chipsets?
John, so all i have to do is a repair install and i will be fine?

Should work fine, has always(2 or 3 times) worked for me.

Usually you can swap out the mb and hope it boots into windows - then just load the new drivers. If it won't boot into windows then you'll just have to do a repair install from the XP CD. Make a slipstreamed copy of Win XP with SP2 to save some time if you don't have an Windows XP CD with SP2.
