Changing Major: Need Letters of Rec, What to Ask for?

Next quarter I'll be petitioning to get into the Computer Science major. Since my GPA slightly misses the mark set by the program, I'm in need of letters of recommendation. Basically I need to prove to them that I am CS material regardless of my
Calculus grades (which were quite stagnant).

When I write my professors and past employers, what type of stuff should I ask them to write? Does anybody have any experience and know what the major petition review council is looking for?
