changing location of my music folder in XP

This problem is really annoying as i just put in a new hard drive and want all my music on there. I just want to be able to click on the my music link in the start menu. i ve tried changing the registry key in the shell folders location, but windows just changes it back

What about going to Local Users and Groups in the MMC and setting your home folder path to something on the new drive? Then put all your music in My Music. That should work.

I know what you mean. I've thought of that, before, too. Whats stupid is you can change the target path of the My Documents icon in start menu but not My Pics or My Music. You just want a single click, right? Well actually that would be 2 clicks, Start->My Music. What about making a short cut to your new and improved Music folder and dropping it in your quick launch? Keep it on top, always visible and you really will have a one click to it. 😛

Two HDDs? Just do like I do and move your My Doc folder to the other HD and create a My Music shortcut on your desktop. Alternatively, you could d/l WinAmp and add the folder to your playlist editor, that way whenever you open WinAmp all your songs are there.

Basically works the same way for WMP, too, if you prefer to use it. Just add the folder to "Watched Folders" in "Tools".
