If your sound card won't share IRQs and it's PCI it's broken, take it back.

If everything is sharing irq9 (or 11, I had them all sharing 11 at one point) that is normal. Windows 2k/XP ACPI HAL use it as a gateway to virtual irqs. Generally it doesn't cause any problems. Unless the device manager is specifically saying that there is an irq conflict, there isn't a problem with it sharing 9.

nah Im just getting the crackling sound with SB Live, under Windows XP and problem according to posts seems to be the Highpoint Raid controller,

supposedly switching IRQ of the raid controller or the sound card so they dont share fixes it
