I've been having an error NET_SendPacket ERROR when I connect to a game and i've been researching and I know that i have to change my IP ports to be able to play. So i know where to go to change it and how, but the question is : "To what ip do I change my half-life?"

My router ip is 192.10x.x.2 and i know that I have to change my HL ip to something but to what? To 192.10x.x.3? 192.10x.x.20? I really need help to sort this out cause I canno play if I don't change my IP.

Any help would be appreciated please help me out...
Thanks

Huh? First are you trying to host a server or are you just trying to connect to someone else's server?

Next what firewall do you have? Is that the public side or the private/lan side address? 192.10x.x.x isn't a private ip address and most nat routers will default you to 192.168.x.x, which is private if you're talking about its internal address. If its the external address, that is assigned to you via the ISP if you don't have a static IP address and shouldn't need to be changed.

edit: What OS are you running? Any software firewalls on your computer like zone alarm. The generl consensus from what I've found on google is to muck around with your network settings. and you'll find whats causing it :D
