Changing Icon on Post

Hello I'm new to this Forum and I noticed people use different icons. I see one was assigned to me when I started a new topic...how do I change it to one that I like. Thanks

That happens to be the default, just as North Carolina is the default location.

Fly by night spammers are not interested in setting up their profiles properly - it takes time.

So the lack of concern is a tip off when they start to generate spam style posts.

I never changed my avatar when I joined!
Did the default change from this to the black dude at some point?
Or did I change it and forgot?!

For now, don't worry about your user icon ... When the forums move to vBulletin (around end of 2008 or so, maybe sooner) you will be able to create your own custom avatar (you create it on your computer and size it to what the forum software is set to allow), then you Upload your custom made
avatar to the forum in your profile. The system we are on now, does not permit this.

Initially, some options in vB will be disabled. Even though vB will allow it, Anandtech may not.

Options available in vB that are not in FT may be phased in depending on the percieved impact.

Quite true. But from what I have seen on most forums with vB they set it as the defaults and most forums are happy with it set that way. There are many options in vB, but I only see about 2 or 3 thay may not be used initially.
