Changing HDD

Right now I am running a Maxtor 40 GB HDD, ATA100 with a 2MB buffer. I just picked up a WD1200JB with the 8MB buffer and ATA133.
I want to use the WD as my main HDD and take advantage of the 8MB Buffer. I will use the Maxtor as a back up. I have the Maxtor on IDE 3. Do I just put the WD on IDE 4, Ghost the Maxtor to the WD, format the Maxtor and then switch IDE cables? TIA

Yes but dont format the Maxtor for a few days (just me) until your sure the the "ghost image" took properly...
