Changing GPU Voltage.

I own an 7800GTX card and with stock voltage of 1.4V I can overclock it at 486/540/1370 from 432/468/1200. I wonder if changimg the default voltage to 1.45V using NVidia BIOS Modifier 3.3 and reflashing would really work or it needs a hardware mod.
