I know it can be done, but I forget how to do it! I just got my MSI 694D-AR board running with Dual P3 800's using my existing win2k install. It's running sweet so far on one CPU...I can't wait for the second one to get crankin! Thanks.
Go to device manager and expand the branch that says computer, mine is listed as a standard pc, right click and click properties, driver, update driver, and choose one of the multi-processor types listed.
hey, I have the same MB as you and am getting my second P3 800 after christmas. Can you PM me or post how your experience went? You just pop the chip in and then what did you do? Any problems?
Just do a reinstall right over the top, When it says to press F6 to install ........ press F5, and then select the SMP set up. This will install it without erasing your critical files
It's necessary to reinstall when going from standard to ACPI. However, when changing between single and dual there is no need to reinstall. As was pointed out, just update computer type to standard dual (SMP).
