I recentley formatted my new hdd, and as of yet, any atempt to gain access into my documents folder on my previous hard drive indicates that there is no such folder and is denied. I know this to be false, as not only in linux, but before swithcing to the new hdd, there is and was data on there, it's just not being allowed to be accesed by me. does anyone know how to strongarm that and recover those files in windows?

XP Home: Boot into Safe Mode (F8). Log in as Local Administrator. "Take Ownership" of the entire drive using the Security Permissions Advanced Properties tab.
XP Professional: Log in as Local Administrator. In Explorer, disable "Simple File Sharing". Then "Take Ownership" of the drive with the Security Permissions Advanced Properties tab.
